Mud Socks are generally made from neoprene material and are designed to fit closely to the horses lower leg as a barrier from the mud and wet conditions that are known to cause mud fever. It is important to make sure they fit correctly in order to do the job properly.

Fly Socks are generally made from a UV Protective lighter weight fabric to offer protection from the sun rays for horses that have particularly sensitive skin. Horses can suffer from sun burn in the same way as humans can so it is important to provide the correct protection for them.
